D'eltbre Didn't Turn Out Too Badly After All!

Well, I know you are all waiting to hear how the Delta turned out! Let me say our hosts at our Lil-Petit Hotel apartments made it all the worthwhile! This is a little shot looking out to one of the beaches 10mins from our hotel. We spent a lazy afternoon reading and sunning ourselves on this beach. I enjoyed a lovely couple of swims in the ocean. Jen was too into her book to get wet, Pah... I just think she is getting old and doesn't like getting her hair wet!
Let me say, while I haven't posted as yet because we haven't downloaded from the camera - we saw Flamingos in the Delta!!!! Can you believe it, i definitely couldn't. Amazing and we didn't have to go to South America to see them - Georgie hope Jennifer and yourself got to see some special birds on your trip! How does one wink with text :) We also enjoyed some cycling along the river which was absolutely lovely on our complementary bicycles - no pics sorry.
Oh to our hosts - Finna and ...... Oh I can't remember. Lets just for the sake of things call him John, which is absolutely not correct. Imagine, Finna speaks Spanish and Catalonian which Finna assures me is more a combination of French and Spanish and French & only "little english" but hey much more english than we speak spanish! and John is Russian and speaks, Russian of course, spanish, french and polish and just a little more english than Finna. Well they were so excited to have Aussies visiting them. The last time was oh 8yrs ago. Furthermore John was keen to tell me he turned 40 this year too! and he is an August birthday, not a Leo though, a lovely virgoan. And Deb and Kris let me tell you the place was immaculately ordered as any Virgoan house should be!!!
They were so lovely, the fact that our apartment which was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished yet with only a microwave and no ummm actual microwave containers - was a mere technicality. We had our coffee pot and little pocket rocket, so on the sun deck I made morning coffee and well, we ate pate, salad and fresh bread.
Now I wouldn't go adding the Delta to your must see list in Spain, but I have to say it is a lovely little place to stop and rest and recuperate before heading back into city life. Aparently it is a bit of a fishing and river kayaking get away spot for Barcelonians. Beach options are lovely too as it is on the rim of the Costa Bravo coastal area.
So not a total flop after all - and fun was had by all!
