Eating Out on a Shoestring....NOT!!!!

Well Kids, I think we have finally done it! Yes you prob didn't guess, had our most expensive meal of our trip yet! What is most astonishing about this evening was we were just popping out for some pinxtos (spanish tapas) or in aussie terms a few nibbles or bar snacks given we had eaten lunch late. So how did it happen..... Linen serviettes, white table cloths and silver service is how. But you ask surely you saw it coming.... Well kind of and also no, I mean we weren't dressed for fine dining. Jen did put on some perfume but other than that we were in our cargo pants and warm jumpers. I did have on some lippie. No it all came down to non-assertiveness. We will have to sighn up for TAFE 102 when we get back. We arrived and were inkling for the bar but weren't sure of the protocol ie should we sit or wait to be seated. Then a nice young man came upto us and asked us if he could help and we said table for 2 pls. The writing was on the wall as he led us through the bar area past the lounge tables toward the back of house. Now don't get me wrong, we are perched on the side of a large hill overlooking the city so back of house has great views! But thefirst sign of crystal glassware and starched linen should of been a sign. But we didn't know how in Spanish to correct the misunderstanding. So in gracious style we decided to go with the flow. Though going with the flow still had complications as the menu (as it rightly should be) was completely in Spanish. Being hear only 1 day we are still learning the words for things. So we let ourselves be influenced by our silver service waiter. We were not disappointed tho' this was far from bar snacks!!!!
