Pt 1. It is not like real estate - Position, position, position does not count for diddley squat.
Pt 2. Beware the wing rider ie the person that arrives at the bus door and sits just off your shoulder at the front in a 40 person queue. They are quick and lithe and have a shoulder charge St George could benefit from on defense and attack.
Pt. 3. Don't be tricked by grey hair and walking stick, they can be lethal. The walking stick & shopping will be used as weapons of self promotion.
Pt 4. The U-Turn as perfected by V. Imagine the 200m queue, 4deep on steps into the forest 39degrees - are you getting the picture? Queue moves slowly in an easterly direction, suspect approaches front of line from west and takes a swift U-Turn as she she a lost bewildered look on her face and says I have to read the map heading toward front of boarding platform and hey presto we are at the front of the line.
Pt 5. The forearm coathanger - used more as a defensive tactic to prevent the one for one common courtesy etiquette often seen in Australian ques. Jen calls it the F'Offski maneuver!
Finally, never assume next in line means a) your next to be served; b) it is your turn next; or c) you'll even get on this bus!!!!
We have decided to develop an new kind of etiquette but it doesn't come easy-from the Monty Python School of Funny Walks....
Wide stance, low base knees slightly bent, elbows flexed and a don't mess with me attitude and; That is what is helping us get around.
