Sanur - Beachside

Today is our last day. We are enjoying the beach and relaxed yet bustling seaside town of Sanur. If you look closely you can see the surf break just beyond the calm!

Fisherman's Boats - Gilli Meno

PiƱa Colada Sunsets

What can I say, we enjoyed many an afternoon (4 to be precise) looking at these gorgeous sunsets! Oh and we did enjoy Piña Coladas and Mojitos....
BootCamp Challengers, I hope we can be forgiven!!!

Out for a Snorkel - Gilli Meno

We enjoyed a nice little charter boat.... Charter Boat....What Charter Boat, you say? The best way to get out and about on the reef is to hire a boat for half a day. We went to 3 different spots. It was quite interesting because the current just whips you along and without flippers you really would struggle to swim in which way other than what the current has in mind for you.
We saw spectacular reef fish and swam with about 7 different sea turtles throughout the day. Jen was nearly caught kissing one as it came up from munching on coral, it glided right towards her, she had to back paddle to avoid a nose to nose!!!!! Oh how we laughed! Sunburn???? Well in spite of lathering up people, there were a few red backs of legs!!!!
As you can see from the pic, a beautiful day!

A Touch of Beauty

In the hustle bustle of Ubud city centre, you can always find beyond the threshold of most warungs a beautiful inviting space. The streets are bustling with movement from the early mornings. With farmers going to market, shop keepers washing down their stoops, women preparing their blessings for the day. As we ride through the back lanes from the walled compounds with elaborate carved gates we often see hens with there baby chicks toddling out onto the street to take a walk in the gutter and there is always a compound dog sitting watching over the entrance! Unlike Italy where there are cats everywhere, here we see dogs everywhere. Not always well cared for, yet seemingly well loved and as loyal as one might expect from man's best friend!

Biker Chicks

Out and about on our mopeds! As you can see, jackets are for wooses !

Bali and Coffee

We are having a nice time in Bali, it is a very different experience to Europe. We have been trying out a little bit of bartering (cautiously) with some success, tho' it feels so wrong really because everything is so reasonable anyways. We are being ethically responsible we hope with it all!

We are enjoying breakfast this morning at a fantastic coffee house, which has a beautiful drop like merlo coffee yummy We are in heaven! It is good to get the bowels moving too - ha ha, especially given we are keen to avoid the Bali belly experience, a natural assist is always better!

Did you hear about the earthquake, it was 5.3 and Jen and I slept right thru it! George thought we were going to slide down the mountain and die in a landslide lol!
